Master Surgeon in Robotic Surgery

In practice since 2010, Dr. Slabas is a caring and compassionate Obstetrician-Gynecologist, frequently referred to as a “Mama Bear” when it comes to looking after her patients.

Her practice includes well-woman health maintenance, pre-pregnancy & recurrent pregnancy loss counseling, pregnancy confirmation, menopausal management, urinary incontinence, infertility care, and minimally invasive surgery utilizing both laparoscopic and Da Vinci® Si/Xi robotic surgical approaches. Dr. Slabas believes by providing education, counseling, and practicing evidence-based medicine, she is able to partner with her patients to provide an opportunity for a lifetime of health and quality of living. 

Originally from Hawaii, Dr. Slabas now calls Texas home. She attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Biomechanics. She then went on to earn her Master’s degree from Loyola University in Chicago, before attending medical school at the University of Illinois College of Medicine - Chicago; where she received her Medical Degree. She then completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, where she served as Chief Resident. During that time, she won numerous awards, including Excellence in Research for her work in Postoperative Pain Relief During Robotic Surgery, Resident of the Year Award from the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and Resident Teacher of the Year Award for four years in a row!

Passionate about her profession, Dr. Slabas is Board-Certified by the American Board of Obstetricians & Gynecologists and has completed her Master Surgeon’s training in Robotic Surgery through Intuitive.

On a more personal note, Dr. Slabas lives in Rockwall with her husband, Jeff, and their fur-baby, Remi, a Scottish terrier service dog. They enjoy golfing, as well as watching college football, and are avid Dallas Stars hockey fans. Dr. Slabas also actively works to support the Rockwall community through her advocacy and contributions to Helping Hands, Texas Chapter of the MS Society, Women in Need, and Children’s Advocacy Center. In her spare time, she enjoys trying to cook or bake new recipes, gardening, and golfing.
