We diagnose and treat vaginal infections caused by an overgrowth of yeast or bacteria, as well as sexually transmitted infections (STIs). More importantly, we also provide counseling and education for the prevention of future infections or recurrent infections.
We diagnose and treat urinary tract infections, which is a bacterial infection of one or more organs of the urinary tract such as the urethra, bladder, or kidneys. While the condition is generally not life-threatening, the symptoms can be serious enough to prevent you from doing your daily activities. Immediate medical attention is strongly recommended to prevent the spread of infection which can result in hospitalization.
We diagnose and manage all types of STIs and its subsequent issues, including genital herpes, genital warts, gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomoniasis, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV, syphilis, and pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). While certain STIs do not have a cure, they can be successfully managed to reduce transmission, progression, and/or symptoms of disease.
The Bartholin glands, located at the opening of the vagina, produce fluid which helps with vaginal lubrication. A cyst may develop when one these glands get blocked, and the cyst may become an abscess if it gets infected. We treat Bartholin cysts and abscesses to provide relief from severe symptoms, such as pain that makes it difficult to sit, walk, or sleep, fever and chills, swelling in the genital area, and repeat episodes.
Vulvar lesions or ulcers appear on the outer skin that covers your vagina. Vulvar lesions can have many causes and can exhibit a wide array of symptoms including itchiness or pain in the affected area, leaking or discharge of fluid from lesions, fever, painful or uncomfortable urination, or enlarged lymph nodes. We provide accurate diagnosis, treatment, and management for all types of vulvar lesions, including those caused by infections, inflammatory or autoimmune conditions, physical trauma or injury, and allergic reactions to clothing or personal care products.
We treat all types of vulvar skin dermatoses (Lichen Sclerosus, Lichen Simplex Chronicus, Lichen Planus, etc.). Typically, these are conditions that cause symptoms such as itching or a burning sensation and are often associated with a visible lesion. There are a variety of causes which can lead to these conditions, including both acute and chronic reasons. Some acute causes are heat, humidity, infection (bacterial, fungal, or viral), and reactions to personal care products. Chronic etiologies can be due to repetitive trauma (scratching or rubbing of the area), or an autoimmune disorder, similar to eczema or psoriasis. All of which are managed with counseling and if indicated, topical or oral medications.
