Laparoscopy

Laparoscopy is a type of minimally invasive surgical technique that is performed through a tiny (~1cm) incision which allows for visualization of the abdominal and pelvic anatomy. This procedure is used to perform tubal ligations (permanent form of birth control), ovarian cyst removal, hysterectomies (removal of the uterus), risk-reducing oophorectomies (removal of the ovaries), and oophoropexies (securing the ovary to the pelvic wall to prevent recurrence of ovarian torsions).

Da Vinci Robotic Surgery

We perform Da Vinci robotic surgery for hysterectomies (removal of the uterus), tubal reanastomosis (the reversal of tubal ligations), and Stage IV Endometriosis (the most severe form of endometriosis). Advantages of Da Vinci Robotic surgery includes greater precision control of surgical instruments, enlarged high-definition views of the surgical area for enhanced accuracy, and significant reduction in the need to convert to less minimally invasive techniques (laparotomy) to complete the surgery in complex cases.
